Show and Tell Friday

Check out Kelli's blog to find out how you can join in on this grown up version of show and tell. http://kellishouse.blogspot.com/
This is an 8 track player that was given to me by my Aunt. It belonged to my cousin who recently passed away. She gave this to me to sell on ebay, but I could not bring myself to do that. I guess it fascinates me so much, because as a child we were not allowed to listen to the radio and popular music so we did not have one of these. I actually think that this is better technology than a cassette because you can advance it to the next song. (8 track was before cassette, right?)
These are a popular item on ebay but I will keep mine! It still works and sounds good.
Don't you just love how my cat got in the picture AGAIN! He is very good at that.

8 tracks were so fun!! Oh my gosh I had a hundred of them. The only thing is they were really hard to carry a bunch in your car.

Take care,
Connie

An eight track player is a trip down memory lane for me. I remember when this was the "in thing" and records were on their way out!
Fun post!!

How cool is that and what great shape it's in! I don't blame you for not wanting to get rid of it.

Oh, my! I remember 8 tracks. They were state of the art back then, for about 6 months :)

Now my tapes are obsolete. And don't get me started on the records from even earlier.

Whew! Technology. I can't keep up.

Oh my goodness! That brings back memories! Too funny! I remember when my sister got one and it would stop in the middle of the song, switch tracks and continue on the song! Good memories. I have never seen one compact like yours though, it is cute!

It is literally a blast from the past, isn't it. I'm glad you have appreciated it and kept it for yourself. I am familiary with tape recorders which preceded the cassette but this looks so compact.

Blessings and bliss
