Look I got a pedicure! And it was done by me dear sweet hubby, Sandy. Isn't he sweet? My friends can not get over the fact that he does my toes. I thought all men did stuff like that! LOL!

I am very excited today. Most of you know that my career experience has been mostly in the culinary field. However, I also have a teaching certificate and have spent several years teaching some K-3 and K-4 classes. Since I left my job as a cook, I have stayed with the same company and moved into a teaching spot. Well, the other day I stopped by a local school, Palmetto Prep to take my resume in. This is a very prestigious, upscale school that goes from infants to third grade. The pay is excellent as well as the benefits. The positions at this school hardly ever come open and when they do they are very hard to get. I am happy to say that I have received a call back for another interview! I am just so excited. As some of you know I recently took some property management classes and I thought that I might like to give that a try. But ever since I was a child I wanted to be a teacher. I really wanted to teach high school math but 4 years of college was not an option after having the kids. So, this opportunity would be the next best thing for me.
The only drawback that I am having right now are the hours. Aaron will be ready to drive when school starts back next August. However, we still have two months of school and I will need to figure out how to get them home from school every day until summer. I know if this job is God's will then it will all work out!
I am so excited I have called everyone I know and wanted to share with you all!

Happy Easter!

Austin and I colored the Easter eggs this year. The youngest two both got a gift card to the gaming store in the bottom of their baskets. They were very happy about that. I found this cute Easter egg playdough that I put in Aaron's basket. When he was little he used to eat playdough so it has always been a running joke. I just couldn't resist putting that in with his candy.

They always still get some junk toy and Aaron got the basketball gumballs and Austin got a light up flying disk. It is always fun to feel like a kid! We had our egg hunt after dark. Aaron, Austin and Tyler (their cousin)used flashlights to find the eggs. They had so much fun.

My pictures were taken with night shot so they are not very good. Of course Billy and Wesley came by hoping they had some goodies too! They both were so happy to get their candy.
I have been down with a headache most of the afternoon but all in all we had a wonderful day! Mom and Dad did not come by to hunt eggs but here is a cute picture of mom hunting with the kids last year. She was running across the yard and laughing.

Aaron Takes a Test Drive

Aaron has been looking at this car. An old friend of mine is selling it. We went today to let him try and drive it because some kids were telling him that old cars did not have power steering and it would be to hard to drive. Well, he did just fine driving it. He really likes it but is not yet 100% sure that it is the car he wants. I am kind of anxious to get him driving because it would really free me up to change jobs. He could transport him and his brother back and forth to school. Of course I am not going to rush him. I want him to be really ready.
Here is the car. It is a 63 Ford Fairlane.

Aaron Gets Healthy

Aaron has up and decided that he wants to lose weight and get 'buff'! I am so happy that he has come to this decision on his own. I think he will be more successful than if I had tried to force him. He has never eaten a salad so we went out last night and got all the ingredients for a big salad. He loves black olives and turkey so those were included. I bought the spring mix lettuce and he did not like the stems! But over all it was a success and he ate a big salad.
Later I caught him in his room snacking on some fresh strawberries. He was dipping them in powdered sugar. This is a way better snack than he would usually have. He can eat 1/2 a box of Debbie Cakes or two frozen pizzas- just for a snack. He also bought some healthy things to pack in his lunch and is taking bottled water instead of soda. His best friends at school have be very encouraging to him.
I can't wait to see the results!

You all are the most wonderful blogger friends in the world!!! You have all been so sweet with your comments as I have been sick. I feel like I have been sick more than I have been well lately. It is very frustrating and I am very anxious to feel like myself again. I am having terrible headaches every morning. It might be a side effect of the medicine but I am not sure. I talk to my mom nearly everyday and she is always concerned for me. So, today when I called her she sounded awful. She said that she has had this awful toothache for several days. She has only been asking about how I am doing and did not tell me she was feeling bad! I guess that is a mom for you! My mom really never gets sick or has anything wrong with her. The only medicine she has taken in YEARS (and I mean-years) is aspirin and that she only takes in a dire emergency! I can count the times she has been to a doctor on one hand! So, to hear her sound so bad is just not good. She is going to try to get in to see the dentist in the morning. She asked me to pray that they have an opening. I told her to demand to be seen, but she is just not like that! If they tell her she has to wait for an appointment- she will just wait! Apparently her tooth broke and she is hoping that it is just due to that and not an abscess. I told her that most people at her age do not even have their real teeth so maybe her teeth are just weakening now. Just part of old age!!! (Just kidding Mom).
I hope that all of you have a wonderful SHORT week. No work Friday! No school Friday! Yeah!!

Still Sick

I am still really sick. I lost my voice for a few day too. I have just been coming home and going right to sleep. I finally went to the dr and my WBC was elevated. She said I have a sinus infection and upper respiratory infection. My step test was negative, but my throat still hurts :( My immune system is compromised right now with the medications I am on so it will take longer to get well.
Sorry I have not been by to visit you all. I will catch up this weekend.

Quiet Here

It has been such a quiet weekend here. I guess that is good because I still do not feel well. My throat is just killing me and now I have this deep cough. Aaron went to stay with his friend Randy Wednesday after school. He ended up staying till Saturday. Randy's grandmother raises him and she just loves Aaron to death. She does not mind having him there for days. Austin spent two nights at a friends house and is not home yet. This is really the first time Austin has spent the night at a friends. He has been gone over night with his cousin before but that is it. I have been protective of him and have always been afraid to let him stay the night anywhere. He has had night terrors since a young child and will even sleep walk outside. I believe he has just about outgrown it but still has an occasional incident. I have been worried about him, but the friend he is staying with is just a few houses away from his older brothers' house and they have already went by to see him. Aaron and Randy are gone off to play football with Billy and Wes and Sandy is asleep. It is very lonely and quiet here and I have just been laying around feeling ill :(. I hope to feel better this week and I hope you all have a wonderful week.

So I have been sick! It started with what I thought was the stomach bug.No need to elaborate. You know what comes with that. Then I came down with a fever of 102 and had body aches. I still am not well this morning but I must go to work. Obligation-you know! I think I could use another day. My throat feels a little funny today. I stayed in the bed all day yesterday. Austin stayed home to take care of me. He brought me water, gingerale, medicine, blankets, anything I asked for. Such a sweet kid. I guess I should have asked him to wash the dishes! I kept an ice pack on my head to ease that awful pain and I was very green in the face-hence the picture!!!
Hope you all had a wonderful monday.

Don't forget to pause my music on my blog first! MOM-that is for you! LOL!

I really need someone to help me out! I love to read Kates blog over at ourredhouse. However, in the past two months when I go to her blog it causes my computer to freeze up. Last month I was able to get a message to her and let her know but now I cannot even read or comment on her blog. I feel like a bad blogger friend and need to let her know. If anyone is a friend of Kate's could you please let her know that I am still having serious problems when I go to her blog? Thanks!!

Saturday Blah Blah

Just wanted to let you all know that my DNA test came back and we are 100% sure that I have Celiac. Friday was my last day working in the kitchen. I am officially out of the food business for good. That is such a hard thing for me. Cooking is my comfort zone. I can run a big kitchen with my eyes closed. Oh well, the time has come to move on. Funny thing happened today. I got a large envelope in the mail and it said- here is the catalog you ordered. Inside was a catalog of whole grain products. I told the kids that someone must be playing a cruel joke on me! The food looked so yummy. Strange how I got on that mailing list :). I also wanted to clear up the confusion about my certification. My certification is not for selling real estate. It is for propery management. With this licence I can work in the office at an apartment complex or manage a strip mall- stuff like that. Just wanted to straighten that out.

Oh, and best of all look at the wonderful award my sweet friend Sharon gave me! You should visit her blog sometime. It is so fun!
Please pray for her. She has been under the weather :(
Well, I am going to watch a movie. I rented Becoming Jane and the kids are actually giving up the big screen for me. How nice of them! I am fixing a big bowl of Breyers all natural mint chocolate chip icecream to eat while I enjoy the movie. I found out it is gluten free. Yeah! It is my favorite ice cream.
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
