SHOW AND TELL FRIDAY

It is time for show and tell friday over at keli's blog. Here is her site if you would like to join in the fun. http://kellishouse.blogspot.com/ OK, I keep trying to make the link where you can just click on it but it is not working for me!
Today I would like to show two of my favorite childhood pieces of doll furniture. The first one is a doll high chair that my grandfather built. I have a little boy doll that sits in it and it stays in my dining room near the table.
Next is a piece my dad built. Mom calls it a 'rockabye cradle'. I could put my baby doll in the cradle and then sit in the rocking chair part and rock the baby. I think this piece was actually built for my sister but I ended up with it. She had these items stored and I wanted to display them. It was such a great benefit to have a father and grandfather who were carpenters. My dad made us a great play kitchen with real faucets and real stove eyes. Well, they didn't work but the pieces were the real thing. I wish I still had those. Maybe I will get mom to dig out an old picture and post it soon.
Thanks for stopping by to see my show and tell. Have a great weekend!

That's doll furniture?!!! Wow, looks life sized in the photo! Love how you have a doll in the crib! Super.

[when you go into blogger edit type in the link title [like, for instance, Kelli's House or Show n Tell...something like that. Highlight those words you want linked, then----...you'll see a chain/ball icon. Click on that. A small window will open. Paste the url in there, and click. It should then show up that the title name will be linked!!]

My SnT is bone china cardinals. You'll need to scroll down below the tornado news to view it. Have a wonderful weekend.

Sondra, I love this about you! I am so glad that you see the sentimental value in things like that! And the memories they must carry. Glad that you shared these. I haven't been visiting much this week and I have missed you! Maybe when the kids are completely through with school and ball, I will have my time back!!

Hi Sondra;

Homemade is so wonderful!

When you do a link...erase the original http:// ....cut it out and then paste in Kelli's (or whoever's...this should do the trick)

I am assuming you are using the little green link icon to set up your link (when you post it is the other little 'picture' icon on top of the post you are creating.) First copy the link address, then write the words you want to be able to click on in your post* like Show and Tell Friday, scroll over this so it highlights, click on the link picture icon ( and clear it if a http:// is there...)then paste in the address you want...that simple. Hope I haven't confused you more.

It's wonderful to have these precious treasures from your Dad. It is great that he and his own dad were carpenters. How fun for you girls. I can imagine the fun play that went on with all of those pieces made for you. I do hope you can find the photo of the play kitchen too. Have a safe and happy holiday. Hugs, Kathi

Thanks so much for your first visit to my blog. I'm a newbee blogger and have had to ask for help on several items. It's great to have help. Love your doll furniture. I'm a huge keepsake person. I've been computerizing a list of pictures and history of items so my kids won't say "I wonder what this is" and chuck it.
Hope you have a great week and good luck in the new job.

How very precious! I love both of them. My sister Kathi had a little wooden doll high chair and I always wanted one, but never had one. I finally got one as an adult! It is cream colored and is in my dining room as I write! I love the rocking craddle, that is so cute!

Hugs, Sharon

I love children's furniture handmade with love by dad's and grandpa's for their little girls. It's so special. I still have my doll cradle my grandpa made me when I was really little, I think I'll treasure it forever it seems.
