CHEAP REDO

So, I am working on a small redo of my laundry room. Many, many years ago when we bought this house the washing machine was in the kitchen. Of course there was no dryer, only a clothesline. I had a small back porch and my dad closed it in and made me a laundry room. One wall is brick because it was formerly the back of the house. The other walls we sheet rocked. Well, believe it or not I have never done anything to it in all these years. I have really been wanting to paint it a LIME GREEN color. I love that color but would not want to see it in a room everyday, so I thought the laundry room would be a perfect place for my fun, bright idea. So how shocked was I when I went to Lowe's and they had this green wallpaper for 50 cents a roll!! WOW! I bought them all.

Then I picked out this shade of green for the brick part of the wall and put Billy and Wes to work.

Yeah, no more unfinished sheet rock walls
I used to have a collection of frog items on display in my kitchen and have since packed them away. Now I am going to get them out for my green laundry room. I also have a couple boxes of antique snoopy stuff that I might try to incorporate in. I will show it off when all is done!

How fun Sondra. You are daring. I would love to do that, but I am a chicken. I can't wait to see it when all completed. It's great that your boys and hubby help you so much. What a blessing to get the wallpaper on sale. Have a great evening. Hugs and smiles, Kathi ps I will be tagging you for something soon, so watch out.

A green laundry room! That sounds fun and fresh! Clean without seeming sterile. I like that idea! I so need to paint the kitchen, can you send me your guys! Your so blessed to have the helpers you have! It's nice that they'll help.

I can't wait to see how it all turns out!

My laundry room is narrow and dark, so for the time being at least I leave it white, but with the entire house currently being white, I'm sure someday I'll want it, as well as all the rest of the rooms painted. I just never can pick colors. I think aside from the kitchen we'll probably paint the office second. So far it's the red room, with red curtains, so I'm not sure what color to use that wouldn't be too dark, and I'm not a fan of tan... oh well, I can't pain just yet anyway.

Kudos on the super economical find! I love things like that, that just totally spark a start. Maybe all I need is a field trip to Lowe's or Ikea.

well, you know me and green:) i can't wait to see your room when it is all finished... be sure to post pictures, ok?

thanks for your thoughts about my dd and her health issues. we go back to the specialist this week and hopefully get a diagnosis then. overall she is doing much better these days though... they say she will have times when she is feeling well and other periods when her symptoms flare-up. but at least when we get a diagnosis she can be on better meds, so that is something to look forward to right?

i hope you are doing well these days, i think of you often,
warmest,
diane

I've got green too! When I painted my Den and Dining room a similar shade of green, I called it pea soup. It REALLY GREW ON ME and I am so proud of my pea soup walls!
