SHOW AND TELL FRIDAY

It is time for show and tell again over at Kelli's place. http://kellishouse.blogspot.com/ Please go by and join in the fun. I know it seems like I show a lot of my kitchen but that just seems to be my favorite place. So here are a few more of my kitchen treasures.
I remember as a little girl my grandmother had a little metal box on her porch and each week the milkman would come by and put her glass bottles of milk inside. So when I came across these old milk lids I did not hesitate to buy them. Just picking one up and holding it brought back so many memories.
I later found this great milk truck sign. Another item I would like to show is my old retro green clock. I found this at a goodwill store and knew it had a perfect home in my retro kitchen. I does work but it gets hung up sometimes when the numbers turn. And lastly I want to show this old car and home coffee pot. It comes in a hard case. Inside is a coffee pot, cups, scoop for sugar and even spoons. It has a car lighter plug so you can use it on a trip. I found this at a yard sale and once again could not say no to it.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

I certainly enjoyed your milk caps. My husband and I are dairy collectors, specifically milk bottles and "go-withs" from Colorado dairies. We have over 500 bottles in our collection. My favorites are the embossed ones with Nursery Rhymes and the WW2 War Slogan bottles! Thanks for sharing your goodies from your kitchen. the kitchen is MY favorite place to be too!

What a nice collection, to remember your grandma. I remember our milk man. His name was Mr. Freeze. He was so nice. He used to give us popcicles. What a cute sign too.

Your coffee box set is so cute, and the clock is cool too.

Enjoy your day dear. Kathi

Love your music....
Your milk bottle lids are great. I remember the mailman and the milk chute on the house.
When I started school, our milk - 1 cent was in a mini bottle. Oh, how I wish I had one!
Enjoyed your show and tell!

What a memory. Your milk cap collection and milk truck sign are so cool. The truck says do you remember the milkman? Well yes I do. Did I just tell my age? Oh well. The car and home coffee pot looks like an old bridal shower gift or wedding gift all boxed up.
What a neat find.

What a cool collection of milk caps. I remember when we had milk delivered to our house - shouldn't said that, it dates me! My dad was a milk man when I was born and I have a sweet hand made and hand painted baby cup one of his customers gave him when I was born. Milk men have lots of interesting stories to tell! Once my dad was bit by a customers dog and he had to have rabies shots in the abdomen for weeks. Oh, I guess you didn't need to know that - I'm just thinking out loud! Thanks for sharing your awecome collection.

Seeing all your milk tops brought back memories for me too. We had home delivery also...haven't thought about that in years. It was fun going down memory lane. Linda

I love all your milk jug lids! Did you put magnets on them? I remember our milk man and I am so happy that I do have those memories, because milk men stopped delivering sometime in the 70s. Have you seen that old cute movie called Walter Mitty? He is a milk man and rigged his truck to drive to him when he whistles.....it is soooo cute!

Have a great weekend!

Hugs, Sharon
